Total ‘Just say Mo!’ to prostate cancer in aid of Movember

The male contingent of Cheltenham based telecoms specialist Total Ltd (Total) have thrown out their razors in favour of moustache wax for the entire month of November.

It's all in aid of Movember, the month formerly known as November, which aims to change the face of men's health. Men across the globe are challenged to alter their appearance by starting the month clean-shaven and then growing and grooming a moustache (known as a ‘Mo') for the next 30 days.

The moustache itself then becomes an emblem for men's health and a talking point through which awareness and funds can be raised in support of The Prostate Cancer Charity and LIVESTRONG.

The money raised as a result of Movember is channelled into a number of world class and innovative education, support, research and awareness initiatives.

‘This November will mark the eighth year of Movember and so, Total felt it was time to take part and make a difference to the face of men's health. There are 13 members of the ‘Just say Mo!' team and whilst this number may be unlucky for some, we are all committed to growing and grooming some fantastic facial hair as well as generating awareness and funds for this brilliant cause.' says Stuart Baikie, Total Managing Director.

‘Whilst the Total Mo Bro's are passionately supporting Movember, their Mo Sistas are right behind them acting as ambassadors for the ‘Just say Mo!' team and we even have a few surprises of our own! Whilst the campaign is sure to generate smiles in the office, there is a serious side to our efforts. Movember is a great way to raise vital funds and if you can spare a few moments, I would urge you to visit our page and rate those Mos!' adds Erica Jones, ‘Just say Mo!' Team Leader.

The ‘Just say Mo!' team has an online Movember page complete with individual profiles. To view the team members, read their motivations and rate their Mos, please visit: http://uk.movember.com/mospace/536418/

Once the Total men's Mos begin to grow, there will be weekly updates and photo uploads following their Mo-gress on the Total Blog, Facebook, Twitter (@just_say_mo) and LinkedIn pages.

Rates of prostate cancer in men are comparable to breast cancer rates in women, with a man being diagnosed with the disease every 2.7 minutes.

All donations help to make a difference to the future of men's health. If you would like to sponsor the ‘Just say Mo!' team, an individual member or donate directly to the Movember campaign, please give generously to this truly worthwhile cause.
